Look at it!
So wonderful, so beautiful!
Like its folding
Or its spreading, or its in layers
How overwhelming to look at
When I look at where it meets the waters…
The endlessness of it
How the clouds’ darkness impacts on its color
From a lovely blue to a fierce darkness
And a wonderful dark green as it approaches me by its waves.
When I first saw it I was barely six
And I was scared but iI swam b’cause I could not resist its attraction
It did not take me away
It loved me; it was alive; its still alive
When I saw it again, I was twelve
I had grown
But it remained the same
Oh what wonder
How wonderful, how beautiful, how refreshing,
Just staring at its vastness.
And the breeze…
Now there is thunder and it rains.
That was nature…
This is nature
Nature that contains humans- hardly aware of its presence
But as I sit here and observe
Its driving, overwhelming, inspiring, almost empowering beauty
How I wish i knew better…
